On 24 February 2023, the Kurhaus Bad Aussee hosted the kick-off of a process to guide the region towards a good life. Together with the association “Biosphärenpark Dachstein – Salzkammergut – Totes Gebirge”, the president of the Club of Rome Austria, Hannes Swoboda, and Diether Ribitsch, chairman of the biosphere park association, welcomed about 200 guests. The key note speaker, climate researcher Helga Kromp-Kolb, who is also a member of the Austrian Chapter, covered the period from the beginning of industrialisation to 2040, the year in which, according to the “government programme” and for climatologists at the very latest, “climate neutrality” is to be achieved in Austria.
