alpS - Centre for Climate Change Adaptation Technologies

alpS will be organised in five research areas: SCENARIOS, LAND, WATER, ENERGY and TOOLS. In the area SCENARIOS regional climate models and socio-economic scenarios will be analysed, further developed and applied to mountain specific physical and societal contexts. Sustainability goals will be defined, implemented and evaluated. The areas LAND, WATER and ENERGY address the climate change impacts, evaluate the risks and opportunities and develop the appropriate adaptation technologies and strategies in these key resource areas of mountain regions. The area TOOLS will provide instruments for data collection, analysis and evaluation as well as develop innovative approaches for participation, communication and knowledge transfer of research findings and innovations. A dedicated Knowledge Transfer Group will disseminate scientific findings and communicate adaptation strategies developed by the five research areas of alpS to all parts of society.
