Beschreibung
The ThermoMap project focuses on fostering the information environment on shallow geo-thermal potential across Europe. Many geographical data exists in the European Member States that is not accessible for the public. ThermoMap will develop a solution to combine the existing datasets for an area visualisation of geothermic resources by soil and groundwater data. The first step is to harmonize pedological, geophysical, geological and climatological and land use/land cover (LULC) basic information to a European standard. The so har-monized information will be made visible in digitized representation based on a spatially adjusted open-source GI-System. ThermoMap intents to visualize geothermal resources in superficial zones of the earth crust to 10 m depth by maps of medium to larger scales (1 : 10 000, 1 : 25 000).
ThermoMap will combine and analyse already existing data collections (geological, hydrogeological, geophysical and pedological geodata, climate, land use & land cover, solar insulation, slope and aspect (both as maps and as digital data) to calculate a value for the geothermal potential in low depths on a large to medium scale.
