Citizen Monitoring of Climate Parameters

Active involvement in the observation and monitoring of climate-related parameters is a key strategy for developing a fuller understanding of impacts of regional climate dynamics, and a precursor for involvement in mitigation efforts. By using 'citizen' participation the acceptance of scientific insights shall be furthered, and scepticism as well as outright denial reduced. This initiative is based on senseBox devices as an open and readily available sensing technology readily coupled with online infrastructures for putting local observations into a regional context. Select partner institutions will be involved with setting up and maintaining sensors and analyzing resulting data, aiming at communicating insights towards local communities.
