Integrated Semi-automated Landslide Delineation, Classification and Evaluation

Projektdetails

Beschreibung

The methodology for achieving the objectives formulated in section 1.1 comprises seven work packages (WPs), and is shown in Figure 1. Study areas will be the Baichi Catchment and the Huaguoshan Catchment in Taiwan, as well as a sub-region of the Upper Salzach Catchment in Austria5. The 120 km2 Baichi Catchment lies in the Shihmen Reservoir watershed in northern Taiwan. Elevations in the catchment range from 830 m to 3,320 m a.s.l. The 116.6 km2 Huaguoshan Catchment is located in southern Taiwan and elevations range from 258 m to 1,676 m a.s.l. These study areas were selected due to their high susceptibility to landslides. Both areas have been investigated during field trips and by previous mapping initiatives. Therefore, a large data base and profound site-specific knowledge already exist. The final decision on the Austrian study area within the Upper Salzach Catchment in the federal province of Salzburg will be made together with local experts and will depend on recent landslide activities. The area will cover about 200 km² and will be situated in the landslide-prone greywacke zone.
