Self-Determination through technological support of Autonomy, Resilience and organizational Transformation

START creates an ICT ecosystem, aimed at strengthening
autonomy and resilience of people with disabilities
to enable a self-determined life style by providing barrier
free access to a multitude of services that are otherwise
difficult to access. At the same time START supports
an organisational transformation from institutional
to community-based support, as outlined by the
UNCRPD. The project focuses on a strong interlinking
between technology, social science, disability support
providers and users to develop an ICT system WITH
and not only FOR affected persons. An interdisciplinary
consortium answers questions in regard to ethics,
technology and data security based on selected
use cases to gain know-how, which forms the base for
future product development.
