All models are wrong... Box's quote revisted

In several quotes, Box makes his point about the usefulness of regression models. Box advocates a rigorous experimental design of iterative induction and deduction between hypotheses (models) and practice (data). In the literature the quote is often taken out of the context and abused to excuse lack of validation or even to promote badly designed models. Conclusion: Quoting Box (1976) is useful, but don't get the message wrong!
