Description and results (max. 2,000 characters)

The Flying Labs are an educational project of the workgroup of Prof. Dr. Fatima Ferreira together with Reinhard Nestelbacher / sciencetainment. The labs have been supported by the working group from the beginning with know-how, infrastructure and laboratory consumables. The IMC FH Krems is now a partner of the Flying Labs, too.

The Flying Labs are fully equipped high-tech laboratories. They come directly to the schools and teach the subjects life science / genetic analysis, immunology / health and high-tech microscopy. With the support of researchers, the pupils now have the opportunity to work on questions of modern science in the laboratory in one-day courses, to get to know the life of researchers and to discuss high-tech topics. The educational project has been running in Austria for more than 18 years and is currently working with approx. 170 school classes in 80 schools per year - so they reach more than 3800 pupils.
