The conference 'Future Trends for Digital ATM Communication Technologies' will present an overview of the future technologies in Digital ATM Communication for the Single European Sky initiative, which will be implemented by SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research Programme). The conference will address implications on ATM communication technologies, which will complement the SWIM (System Wide Information Management) approach and support CDM (Collaborative Decision Making) based on presentations by international organizations (EUROCONTROL, ESA, etc.) and pertaining to the foreseen developments within the context of SESAR. The conference also offers a chance to become acquainted with Austrian research, technology and development in this area as a new cellular terrestrial digital communication candidate system for Europe is currently being developed under the leadership and contribution of Austrian participation by Frequentis AG and the University of Salzburg. The conference will further address the implications on a future ATM System as well as the influencing factors on ATM communication with regard to weather situations and the human factor.
