CD Laboratory for geospatial and EO-based humanitarian technologies

Project Details

Description

The overall vision behind the CD lab gEOhum is to enhance technical and organisational capacities matching specific requirements from humanitarian non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to make humanitarian assistance more targeted and effective, and adaptive to the fast onset of technological advancements. Specifically, and as the main driver of the proposed lab, we expect to provide technologies and tools to MSF to assist in providing the best care possible. By leveraging cutting-edge technological developments in the field of EO*GI, we aim to foster innovation at MSF, and in particular its GIS Unit, in adopting and best utilizing existing and new technologies for more targeted humanitarian action. The main result is the fundamental scientific substantiation, the development and innovative use of highly relevant information products to optimize logistics and mission planning of MSF in conflict and humanitarian disaster situations.
