Description
the overall purpose of the CLIMB project is to study climate-induced migration in Africa and towards Europe with a specific focus on mapping climate, geo-political and socio-economic risks, understanding the timing of and the mechanisms underlying human mobility, and predicting the time trends and spatial patterns of human migration (namely when and where climate change might result in massive movement of people). To accomplish this, we will develop a holistic approach which 1) accounts for multi-stage processes of migration, 2) adopts multi-disciplinary perspectives, 3) integrates multi-level (macro, meso, and micro) factors, 4) engages multiple stakeholders, and 5) leverages multiple data sources (traditional and alternative (big) data sources as well as subjective and objective measures).
