Second Home in the Sun? Retirement Migration from an Asian-European Perspective

The aim of this project is threefold. First, it aims to conduct a pilot research in the field of "international retirement migration/mobility" (IRM) from Western Europe to Thailand. Second, the project aims to strengthen existing our collaborations between Dr. Sunanta (Ernst-Mach-Fellow at the University of Salzburg, 4-5/2021) and PI.Currently the IP is hosting Dr. Sunanta, an expert of gender, mobility and tourism research, at the Department, University of Salzburg. Thus, the proposed project will draw on our ongoing collaborations and utilize it for sustainable research. Third, we will exploit this project to foster further collaborations for highly innovative research-driven course involving postgraduate students at both universities in the field of migration, gender and mobility studies between Austria and Thailand.
