Abstract
Managing research data according to the FAIR principles is crucial for preserving its value and long-term utility, as well as ensuring transparency and openness in science. Domain-specific, FAIR-compliant and trustworthy data repositories are essential for the sustainable management of research data at universities. Using the Austrian NeuroCloud project as an example, this paper outlines the challeng-es of implementing a sustainable repository and proposes potential solutions. For long-term sustainability, integration into the university’s development plan and secure embedding within the financial agreements between the university and the ministry are essential.
